The latest Adobe Air 3.3 is released as an .dmg file, and no longer a compressed archive (.tbz2). The merge option doesn't recognize an air folder but requires the archive.

The SDk merge dialog currently does not support merging .dmg files.

Workaround

  • download the latest Air SDK from the the Adobe Labs Website http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/air3-3.html
  • extract the content of the .dmg somewhere on your harddrive
  • compress the content to a .zip or .tbz2
  • in FDTs SDK preferences, click on Merge AIR SDK and select the archive you previously created, you may need to change the filefilter to '.' to select the .zip file
