When writing the following (see bellow) in normal AS3 environment, this doesn't automatically open auto-complete, in the haxe nature it does. Meaning you have to press escape to remove autocomplete, most of the time I press return which gives me the first value in the list. The AS3 workflow is much better, consider the user action for auto complete rather than just opening it up.
